Sized for a small woman, this pattern follows almost exactly the original published in Weldon's Practical Needlework, except that it is knitted at a larger stitch gauge and corrects a mistake in the original's heel turns. In contrast to gentlemen's socks, ladies' socks in the 19th century often had lacy patterns.
